| Our Alaskan cruise on the Coral Princess was spectacular. We were greeted only minutes after arriving to our cabin by our steward (Renaldo David) offering us complimentary champagne and introducing himself and leaving us with his pager number if we needed him at anytime. He was so pleasant and such a gentleman. By the end of the week he felt like family and we did not want to say goodbye. There was always something to do from playing bingo, to entertainment on the Lido deck, relaxing in one of the many lounges, casino etc. We enjoyed several of the evening shows in the Princess Theatre that we also really enjoyed.
We had a mini suite which was very comfortable for my mother, sister and myself. The full size tub and large closet made this cabin very accommodating for the three of us.
We enjoyed all the places we ported. Ketchikan was a great little shopping town through historic Creek Street. Juneau was by far our favorite port. We saw eagles nesting in trees before we got off the ship that morning. We rode the Mountain Roberts Tram to the top of the Mountain and the views were spectacular. We also went whale watching. We booked this excursion through Dolphin Tours and this group was fantastic. Very informative and super nice. We saw at least ten to twelve whales. This excursion was AMAZING. The next day we ported in Skagway and took the White Pass train ride into Gold Country. The trip was nice and the views were beautiful but we felt $119.00 per person was a little pricey for this excursion. The next day we were in Glacier Bay. This by far was the day for the most breathtaking views you can ever imagine. We saw glaciers calving and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. We were very fortunate it did not rain a drop the entire week we were on the ship. The locals said we were VERY LUCKY!!!!!
The Coral Princess crew do everything to make your week on the ship a spectacular one. The only thing negative I have to say about the Coral Princess was the Horizon buffet. I expected the buffet to be larger with more of a selection. It seemed it was the same everyday with only a few changes to the entrees. I also expected more Alaskan seafood to be on the dinner menus. The food was good in the dining rooms and the service was out of this world.
Overall our experience on the Coral Princess was fantastic. I would highly recommend this ship to anyone. We have memories of that week that will last for a lifetime. |
