MSC Cruises is an Italian cruise operator based in Naples, Italy. The company has a long maritime history and became known as MSC Cruises in the mid-1990s. MSC Cruises has a fleet of eleven ships in service worldwide.
Better known to European customers, MSC Cruises is starting to make a name for itself in the North American cruise market with several ships spending the winter months sailing to the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale, FL.

MSC Poesia entered service in 2008. The ship is 964 feet in length, has thirteen passenger decks and an impressive atrium. With a capacity over 2500, the ship has roughly 2.6 passengers per crew member. MSC Poesia has elegant Italian decor throughout the ship.

MSC Poesia spends the Winter months cruising the Caribbean from Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale), FL. The ship heads to European waters for several months in the Summer with departures from Kiel, Germany. MSC Poesia also offers several Canada & New England cruises out of New York City in the Fall.

MSC Poesia offers passengers a diverse menu of shore excursions through its website, which enables passengers to search by Port. Excursions are segmented by level of difficulty: Easy, Moderate and Difficult. MSC's website provides information on shore excursions, but it need to be improved especially for Caribbean cruises.

MSC Poesia has over 1200 cabins onboard. You can choose from an Inside, Ocean View, Balcony or Suite. When selecting a cabin, make sure you know which public areas are near, above and below your cabin. Everyone's tastes are different, but it's best not to be surprised when you get onboard.

MSC Poesia offers a wide variety of dining options onboard. From casual to elegant, we have been told that the cuisine on MSC Cruises is good. There are two seatings for dinner in the main dining rooms, while breakfast and lunch are open seating.
MSC Poesia features numerous bars & lounges. Whether you are looking for a quiet drink or a place to meet up with friends for the evening, the choices are extensive. Here are some of the most popular spots onboard the ship:
MSC Poesia's main entertainment venue is the Carlo Fellice Theatre. Typically, there are two seatings for the theatrical, musical or comedic productions each evening. The Carlo Fellice Theatre, which is well styled also hosts special theme parties and other events.
MSC Poesia's Casino Royal is open while the ship is "At Sea." You will find popular table games, including Black Jack, Craps, Poker and Roulette. You will also find lots of Slot Machines and Video Poker. Just a reminder, you must be 21 years of age to enter the casino.

MSC Poesia features a gym located at the forward end of the ship. You can exercise on elliptical trainers, treadmills and stationary bikes. There are also weight training machines and free-weights available. They also offer a number of classes.
