First and last time my family and friends would choose MSC Cruises. Ship was beautiful but staff was unfriendly and uncaring. Customer service didn't have any decision making ability and therefore never followed up on passenger problems. The cruise line and shore excursion people are certainly not at all interested in helping an independent traveler. Most of the time the information given to us about a port was absolutely wrong. Nothing of a cultural nature or port information provided.
Food was below average. Initial price of the cruise is good but once onboard the cruise line nickels and dimes you. No free water or coffee after breakfast. Tea from 4-5 is a disgrace and then no free food is available on the ship until 9:00 PM. Always a charge for room service. Not at all what we expected. Certainly not recommended for Americans. Cabins were not consistently restricted to non-smoking. Our cabin smelled from smoke from a previous occupant. Would never recommend this cruise company.
