MSC Melody was built in 1982 and entered service for MSC Cruises in 1997. The ship is approximately 672 feet in length, has eight passenger decks and an impressive atrium. With a capacity of approximately 1000, the ship has roughly 2.1 passengers per crew member.

MSC Melody offers passengers a diverse menu of shore excursions through its website, which enables passengers to search by Port. Excursions are segmented by level of difficulty: Easy, Moderate and Difficult. MSC's website provides information on shore excursions, but it need to be improved especially for Caribbean cruises.

MSC Melody has over 500 cabins onboard. You can choose from an Inside, Ocean View, or Suite. We have heard that MSC Melody has cabins with balconies. When selecting a cabin, make sure you know which public areas are near, above and below your cabin. Everyone's tastes are different, but it's best not to be surprised when you get onboard.

MSC Melody offers limited dining options compared to newer ships. We have been told that the cuisine on MSC Cruises is good. There are two seatings for dinner in the main dining rooms, while breakfast and lunch are open seating.
MSC Melody features numerous bars & lounges. Whether you are looking for a quiet drink or a place to meet up with friends for the evening, the choices are extensive. Here are some of the most popular spots onboard the ship:
MSC Melody's main entertainment venue is the Mercury Theater. Typically, there are two seatings for the theatrical, musical or comedic productions each evening. The Mercury Theater, which is well styled also hosts special theme parties and other events.
MSC Melody's Casino is open while the ship is "At Sea." You will find popular table games, including Black Jack, Craps, Poker and Roulette. You will also find lots of Slot Machines and Video Poker. Just a reminder, you must be 21 years of age to enter the casino.

MSC Melody has a small gym located mid-ship on the Pool Deck. You can exercise on elliptical trainers, treadmills and stationary bikes. There are also weight training machines and free-weights available. They also offer a number of classes.
