My wife and I booked a 7 Day Western Caribbean Cruise on the Liberty because other last minute vacation plans fell through. This was our 4th cruise on Carnival, 1st cruise out of Miami, and the second on this class of ship, (We were on the Glory in 2006). Departing from Miami is much better than Port Canaveral. The Terminal in Miami is well designed and makes boarding painless.
I really like the design of this ship, it is very clean, inviting and very well maintained. We booked an interior cabin, as we booked late it was only interiors and Suites left. This was our first time with an interior. While it was smaller than the ocean view or balcony we normally get, it was quite comfortable. Carnival nicely upgraded us to the 10th deck forward as we were past guests. The great location made up for the smaller cabin. As always the cabin Steward was excellent. We had a problem with the TV remote and the Fridge, both of which were replaced within 2 hours after we reported it to the front desk.
All of the crew that we interacted with were excellent and went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. Especially the Maitre'd, we were originally slated for the flexible dining time, (late reservation again), on our 3rd night we met some other people and the Maitre'd was kindly able to accommodate our request for the 6 of us to dine together for the rest of the cruise. We all agreed that the food was excellent.
My only regret is that we were not able to experience the Funship 2.0 upgrades. I look forward to experiencing those on a future cruise.
Our Cruise on the Liberty was a truly great experience. Carnival once again delighted us.
