Carnival Cruise Lines has been operating since 1972 and currently has 23 ships in service worldwide. When doing your homework on Carnival, take note that the fleet is divided into 7 classes of ships based on size, capacity and when the ship entered service (see cruise ship pages for more information). Carnival offers an affordable price point and has the reputation of being a family friendly cruise line. In an effort to keep pace with competition, Carnival has added new outdoor amenities on several ships. Recent travelers are impressed with the WaterWorks spray park for kids, the Serenity Adult Only Retreat and Carnival's Seaside Theatre that shows movies and sporting events on a large screen video board.
